Sweet Yards Landscaping Ltd. is a local Kelowna owned and operated company, servicing from Penticton to Vernon and everywhere in-between. SYL is owned by two longtime friends and business partners (Jake Young, right & Rick Schoene, left ) you will see both of us daily on any construction sites we are working on. Jake grew up on Vancouver island with a 30+ year career landscaper for a father. Rick was born in Germany before his family immigrated to Canada in the mid 90’s, where in his young years, he worked on large blueberry farms. Both of us ended up chasing the money ( as young men do) & joined the drilling rigs in 2008. SYL was first founded in 2011 as a small company to subsidize wages on down time from oil & gas industry lay-offs. In 2019 Jake & Rick decided to incorporate the company and go fulltime 100% Sweet Yards! We run a small tight nit crew of hardworking reliable people and strive for high quality work at a fair price for all parties involved. Since then we have built an amazing core team of people and a small fleet of reliable equipment including four trucks, four trailers, excavator, skidsteere & a multitude of construction/maintenance power tools. We are fully insured, in great standing with WCB, hold a National safety code certificate & ground disturbance certification. SYL is a local, honest, hard working company that’s main goal is to serve the community in any landscaping needs no matter how small or large the project.
